Me Before You by Jojo Moyes

Louisa Clark is just an ordinary girl with an ordinary life. She has never been anywhere outside of her tiny village. She just lost her job at a local cafe when it closes. That’s where she ends up working as a caregiver for Will Traynor, a quadriplegic.

Will is rude to Lou at the beginning but when she starts calling him out on the way he treats her. He sees her in a different light and they start getting along.

Will Traynor has no motor functions below his neck aside from little movement in one arm. Before his accident, he was a great businessman who traveled all over the world and did everything from sky-diving to bungee-jumping. So, his life completely changed after the accident. To the point where he has decided to end his life through a place in Switzerland.

When Louisa discovers this fact, she and Will’s parents make plans to try to get Will to change his mind once the 6 months are over.

Louisa tries all different things to get Will out of the house and do things that might make him view life as something good.

Along the way, Louisa starts to fall in love with Will after spending most of her time with Will and taking care of him.

Nothing could change his mind though.

This was a very heartbreaking story. I was really sad when even after Lou confessed her love for Will, he said it wasn’t enough for him to live. I can’t imagine what Lou went through. I loved what Will did for Lou though. He got her to live her life and he gave her money to do just that.

I can’t wait to read the second book and I really can’t wait for the movie coming out soon!
